Zendaya Dressed as Cinderella at the 2019 Met Gala and Her Stylist Was Her Fairy Godmother

March 2024 · 2 minute read

Zendaya and her stylist, Law Roach, took extra to the next level at the 2019 Met Gala—and it was utterly enchanting.

The Spider-Man: Far from Home star and Roach hit the carpet together, with Zendaya decked out in a Cinderella gown (custom by Tommy Hilfiger) and Roach dressed as her fairy godmother. With a few waves of his wand and a couple wisps of smoke, the actress's gown lit up like a very chic Christmas tree.

The footage is mesmerizing and honestly, a little emotional—how many kids have dreamed of some iteration of this very moment?

The dress and its accompanying red carpet performance offered the ideal combination of style and spectacle, fitting for the evening's theme, "Camp: Notes on Fashion." Earlier in the night, Lady Gaga pulled off a burlesque-esque undressing performance, shedding layers of a Brandon Maxwell gown until she reached a lingerie base.

Zendaya always makes a legendary entrance at the Met Gala. Last year, she wore a Joan of Arc-inspired custom Versace gown for "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination."

In 2016, she opted for Michael Kors for the "Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology" gala.
