Megan Markle was once ‘left out’ by Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton. It’s rumored she felt the Duchess would ‘overshadow’ the main event, so she removed her from the guest list.

Kate Middleton‘s sister Pippa married British former professional racing driver James Matthews in a royal wedding in 2017. The celebrity guest list of the special day included many royals like The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, Prince George, and Princess Charlott. There were also others attending, such as, Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews and the Duke of Northumberland, George Percy. While fans wondered why Meghan Markle wasn’t by Harry’s side, royal experts have now revealed the Duchess of Sussex was missing from the important occasion.

Meghan Markle ‘snubbed by Kate’s sister’ with the guest list

Despite speculations Meghan Markle was invited to the wedding of Kate‘s sister Pippa, her absence raised eyebrows with followers over the Duchess of Sussex’s absence at the ceremony.

Royal authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have shed some light on Meghan not attending the special day. In their book Finding Freedom, they said the former TV actress even bought a new outfit and hat for the wedding. Unfortunately, she was then ‘snubbed with the invite’.

Reportedly, Pippa and her mother Carole had concerns over Meghan’s presence “overshadow[ing] the main event”. Various headlines comparing the two women were the final straw for them taking the decision she wouldn’t attend the wedding.

The royal experts claim Pippa’s family worried that Meghan’s presence could cause a media circus. Before the big day, a news report compared Pippa and Meghan’s figures. This was after Kate’s sister caused a stir at her wedding to William years before.

They wrote: “Harry and Meghan agreed that she couldn’t possibly turn up at the church, only fifty metres away from a specially arranged media pen, after such a crass cover story.

“If they worried their arrival might create a media circus despite taking every precaution, now they had no doubt that it would. Meghan’s church outfit and Philip Treacy hat would have to be worn another time.”

The book added, Harry ended up driving Meghan off at another wedding guest’s Airbnb. He then had to drive to the church alone.

Meghan reportedly attended the private reception at an evening gathering. But she did not get to spend the entire evening by Harry’s side. The couple had introduced a rule no couples sit next to each other, so guests would mingle at the event.
