Josh Peck's 100lb weight loss would have been 'easier with Ozempic,' he jokes

Josh Peck has hilariously opened up about his 100lb weight loss after Ozempic became a trendy ‘drug’ to use. But the TV star achieved his transformation through hard work and determination before the quick fix trend came around. Many celebrities have been known to use the diabetes drug to aid them on their weight loss journey.

The TV star, best known for his role in the Nickelodeon comedy, Drake and Josh managed to lose 100 lbs after weighing almost 300 lbs as a teenager while appearing on the show. Many fans will remember seeing his transformation in later seasons, achieved through changing his diet and living a healthier lifestyle.

Josh Peck ‘pokes fun’ of weight loss method

Taking to his TikTok, the Drake and Josh star took part in the viral trend, mouthing along with to the song “All that work and what did it get me?”

In the text of the video, the Hollywood star wrote: “When you lose 100 naturally and then Ozempic,” alluding to the joke he lost all the weight before the trend came about. With Ozempic, a diabetes drug, users take a weekly injection, and is said to help aid weight loss.

“Ozempic is not approved for weight loss. However, semaglutide is approved for weight loss under the name Wegovy,” University of California states.

Fans were quick to compliment the star under Josh Peck’s viral video, as one wrote: “No no. you did it the right way and you don’t have a weird Ozempic face. thank you.”

“Ozempic is really not a healthy way to lose weight. Losing it naturally is the best way to go!” exclaimed another.

“At least you can be a truther,” another joked, referencing the hit Nickelodeon show.

The star ‘took a really long time to love himself’ at his heaviest

Taking to his Instagram after writing his book in 2022, the 37-year-old posted a before and after picture of himself.

The before, being when he first started in the Nickelodeon show alongside Drake Bell. In the second, he could be seen noticeably slimmer years later, smiling whilst holding his book, Happy People Are Annoying.

In the caption, he wrote: “This guy wrote a book about this guy. They’re both me but, it took me a really long time to love the one on the left. How strong he was in ways I don’t have to be anymore. I talk all about it in my book and I’m proud to say it’s out today.”

As well as speaking about his weight loss, the How I Met Your Father actor also opened up about getting sober.
