Babaloo puts entertainment into QC children's reading programs

September 2024 · 1 minute read

If local libraries are shaking July 10 to 13, don’t worry. That’s simply the Babaloo effect. The one-man musical comedy act and noted children’s entertainer brings his unique brand of music and fun to a number of Quad City area children’s summer reading programs that week.

Named one of St. Louis’ favorite children’s performers, a Babaloo performance is a high energy, over-the-top, fun-filled experience for the whole family. “My shows have been called ‘carefully controlled chaos.’ There’s no ‘criss-cross applesauce, sit-still-and-zip-your-lip stuff.’ There is lots of shouting and singing, dancing, stomping, magic and mayhem, bean-bag bopping, bubble-popping, and bucket-beating – whatever it takes to keep everyone energized and laughing,” said Babaloo.

Babaloo will be performing at several libraries in the Quad Cities from July 10 to 13.

Performances include:

Rock Island Public Library (Downtown), 401 19th Street, Rock Island:   July 10 at 10:00 am

River Valley District Library, 214 S Main St, Port Byron:    July 10 at 6:30 pm
